Arrival Instructions to new IFT building in Barra Funda:

The easiest way to get to the new IFT building in Barra Funda is by Metro or bus. The new building is located at R. Dr. Bento Teobaldo Ferraz 271 in Barra Funda and is across the street from the Barra Funda bus and metro station. During the week of the joint Dutch-IFT school, there will be bus transportation from the hotel to the institute and back. But for those who will not be at the hotel, below are instructions for getting to the new building:

Arrival by bus from the airport to the new IFT building: There is a direct bus from the international Guarulhos airport to the Barra Funda bus station. It is a blue air-conditioned bus for `Terminal Rodoviario Barra Funda' which leaves every 60-70 minutes from a bus-stop which is halfway between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The bus schedule is 05:45, 06:40, 07:50, 08:40, 09:30, 10:40, 11:30, 12:20, 13:20, 14:20, 15:10, 16:00, 16:50, 17:50, 18:50, 19:40, 20:30, 21:35, and 22:15. You will need to buy a ticket for 31 reais which is sold at a counter near the car-rental agencies just outside the airport near the sidewalk. You need to take the bus called `Terminal Rodoviario Barra Funda' and get off at the final stop which is the Barra Funda bus station. Depending on traffic, the trip will take between 30 and 60 minutes. After the bus drops you off, walk up the steps into the bus station, turn left and walk less than 100 meters until the end of the station. At the end of the station, descend the steps and you will see a large white and blue building immediately across the street in front of you. The white and blue building is the Instituto de Artes, and next to it is a large white and green building which is the Instituto de Fisica Teorica. Enter in the gate between the two buildings, and the auditorium is on the fourth floor of the white and green building.

Arrival by metro to the new IFT building: If you are taking the metro, take the red line and get off at the last station which is Palmeiras-Barra Funda. Follow the signs to the exit which is called Av. Marquis de Sao Vicente. After passing through the turnstiles, turn left and walk until the end of the station. At the end of the station, descend the steps and you will see a large white and blue building immediately across the street in front of you. The white and blue building is the Instituto de Artes, and next to it is a large white and green building which is the Instituto de Fisica Teorica. Enter in the gate between the two buildings, and the auditorium is on the fourth floor of the white and green building.
