Between the dates of August 17 - September 11, Prof. Anthony Zee (Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, U.C. Santa Barbara) will present 12 two-hour lectures based on the second half of his widely acclaimed textbook "Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell".

Schedule: The 12 lectures will be in the auditorium of the IFT-UNESP (Barra Funda) and will take place from 10:15-12:30 on the days of August 18-21 (Tuesday-Friday), August 24-26 (Monday-Wednesday), September 1-4 (Tuesday-Friday), and September 9 (Wednesday).

Lectures will include topics from his chapters on field theory and condensed matter, field theory and collective phenomena, grand unification, gravity and beyond, as well as topics from chapters that will appear in a new updated version of the textbook.

The level of the lectures will be for advanced doctoral students who have already completed a standard course on quantum field theory. The minicourse is funded by the Brasilian CAPES program Escola de Altos Estudos. Graduate students who register will receive credits for participating in the minicourse.
